MetaboliCity

Urban Grow-Labs

As the weather has warmed up hundreds of little seedlings have germinated and there has been faster growth seen in the more established salad crops. Plants seem to grow almost twice as fast under the cover of the dome.

I thought ventilation would be a huge problem as plants started to establish themselves as I still haven't installed a window in the ceiling but so far there is no sign of disease. Unfortunately the humid environment that the dome creates seems to have attracted large numbers of slugs, luckily there has been no severe damage yet as I have caught most of them using beer. (Plastic cups set into the ground next to each bed filled with beer)

The structure also seems to deter pigeons and crows from the surrounding beds which has been an unforeseen advantage.
