California state Polytechnic agriculture professor is getting involved with the urban growing.

With his main focus on growing in Urban areas especially small spaces by using hydroponics.

Obamas’ Vegetable Garden

For the first time since President Roosevelt, Michele Obama is sending quite a strong, clear environmental and symbolic signal by advocating growing food locally and organically to reduce reliance on huge industrial farms that use more oil for transportation and chemicals for fertilizer.

By digging up the White House garden and creating a 1,100 foot allotment which will house over 55 different vegetables.
