Underwater Biowall

The walls in loop's studio are already starting to sprout healthy squash blossoms. The variations on this theme are vast, reflecting the exciting world of creepers that can be introducted to the architecture. On the theme of food production and plant growth, the scope for underwater agri-techture could also include seaweed cultivation. Yes, it takes us on a detour from the urban environment, but still fun to imagine clouds of waving seaweeds taking anchor on the biowall!Seaweed are most…See More

What can grow on Biowall?

Biowall works as a scaffolding for plant life to take shape on. Imagine all of the possibilities!!:Sweet Pea are a beautiful, perfumed,…See More

Capital Growth

When London was bidding to host the Olympics, it campaigned with the green card, promising to use the Games as “a catalyst for addressing important urban and inner city living concerns including climate change and water management” David Higgins, the Chief Executive of the ODA, has officially stated that "Ensuring a sustainable approach to building the Games will help ensure London 2012 is remembered not only as two weeks of fantastic sporting action, but also as the greenest games to date",…See More

San Francisco's Civic Center Victory Gardens

In San Francisco last summer, the stately plaza outside of the City Hall became a site of food production. Built by the public, thousands of volunteers from youth, arts, and environmental organisations worked hard to replace the city’s most perfect lawn with a landscape of sprouting lettuces. In the end, it was built for the public - crops were harvested and donated to the city’s food banks. The project was led by Rebar, a collective of artists who are known for calling attention to potential…See More
