Prize winning tomatoes

Just to let everyone know that some MetaboliCity tomatoes that we've been growing here at the St Luke's Centre won a prize at last week's Islington Horticultural Show. They came second in the 'Set of Four Tomatoes' category. This is especially good considering that the plants were just weeds that somehow started growing spontaneously out of some of the compost that we had used in our raised beds!HeatherSt Luke's Centre Community GardenerSee More

For those in London there is an exhibition dedicated to Urban Agriculture that demonstrates various methods by which food production can be incorporated into the urban environment at both an industrial and domestic level. They aim to help stimulate the debate and raise public awareness of our increasingly fragile relationship with the food on which we rely on and the method of bringing it to our table. Our food supply is almost totally dependent on oil (95% of the food we eat is oil-dependent)…See More
